Volunteering is a rewarding way to get involved with your child’s school and help make school projects and programs successful! There are a lot of different opportunities to get involved, so you’re sure to find something that interests you.
How to Get Started as a Volunteer
- Complete required Seattle School District forms:
- Volunteer Application Form
- Background Check
- Volunteer Handbook – read and sign page 18. Hard copy located in the Main Office.
- Adult Sexual Misconduct Prevention Video
- SPS Volunteer Policy No. 5630
- Return paperwork-in person- to Main office. We must see you and a copy of a valid I.D. (driver’s license, passport, etc) in order to process paperwork.
- Complete and submit a Sand Point Volunteer Interest Form to indicate what projects, events or programs your are interested in.
Returning Volunteers
- Update/complete the following forms by stopping in the Main Office:
- Background Check – must complete a new one each year.
- SPS Volunteer Policy No. 5630 -initial and date new form
- Volunteer Application- initial and date last year’s form in main office
- Volunteer Handbook- initial and date last year’s form in main office
- Complete and submit a Sand Point Volunteer Interest Form to indicate what projects, events or programs your are interested in

- Once you have completed all of the forms, a PTA representative may contact you when there are opportunities that match your interests.
- Check the PTA website and the e-newsletter for new opportunities and special needs.
